A SHOW to lift the spirits after a challenging 2020 enjoyed a socially distanced run at Elgin Town Hall.

The Lossiemouth Entertainment Academy was behind ‘That’s the Spirit’, written by Tish Tindall, supported by the Lossie Elite Dance Group.

Two evening performances and a Saturday matinee each played out to an audience of 100 just before Christmas.

Singing, dancing, acting and music provided some rock musical respite from the coronavirus pandemic, although the show was devised and written by Tish based on the events of 2020, with performers all wearing masks and maintaining social distance.

Live performances across the UK have been hit by Covid-19 and Tish says it is about adapting to the new normal.

“We just have to find a way to put on show to make sure we comply with all the regulations,” she said.

After the three week lockdown, another three performances of ‘That’s the Spirit’ are planned towards the end of January, also at the town hall, and the academy is also planning a Robert Burns the musical.
