PICTURES: National Trust Scotland (NTS) seeks people's memories of Culloden Battlefield
THE bloody Battle of Culloden in 1746 was over in about one hour, but it had consequences that reached across generations and still evokes emotions.
Now National Trust Scotland (NTS), which manages the site and visitor centre, is seeking people’s memories and mementos of their experience of the battlefield’s more recent past.
It is creating an exhibition to open in April 2023 but last weekend held a Community Thank You Day to start the ball rolling.
Katey Boal, NTS engagement manager, said: “We had brilliant feedback from people who came in.
We were overwhelmed by the strength of feeling people around the site have for the place.”
The Culloden team want to hear from anybody who would like to share their stories, memories, connections, artefacts and photos of the site and centre over the years.
If you have a special memory or connection, you have until January 15, 2023 to get in touch at: culloden300@nts.org.uk
