New Elgin Service Station car park planning application submitted to Moray Council as expansion continues

Plans have been submitted for a new car park which could help ease traffic congestion following a petrol station’s expansion.

The New Elgin Service Station reopened to the public after an extensive refurbishment earlier this year with a commitment to serve the community 24 hours per day.

It also included a “massive” beer cave and an 800-square-foot soft drinks cave.

The changes have proved popular and to cope with the increased demand owner Arul Palaniappan has submitted a planning application to develop a new car park behind the service station on Land Street on the site of a demolished house.

Drawings submitted to Moray Council reveal plans for 11 parking spaces, including two designated for disabled drivers.

Additionally, the plans include the relocation of the two jet washes, air and water facilities, and laundry machines from their current forecourt location to the new car park area.

A new rear door will also be constructed for shoppers.
