Buckie car show drives forward cash boost for Linzee Gordon Community Play Park group

A play park group have been handed a four-figure boost thanks to a local car show group.

Buckie Classic Car Show packed out Linzee Gordon Park at the end of last August with their biggest ever extravaganza, attracting a total of 770 vehicles from all over the UK to the event.

During the show, budding photographers were asked to take pictures of the vehicles on show to be brought together in a charity calendar.

Car show chairman John Clark said: “This year we donated the proceeds to the Linzee Gordon Community Play Park group.

“We sold 77 in all - including one to interim Moray Council chief executive John Mundell, who opened last year’s show - raising £816.50, and we boosted that to £1500 thanks to a donation from committee members.

“We’re at an advanced stage of planning for this year’s show, which is being held on August 31.

“Last year’s show filled up very fast and we had to close entries as we noticed a lot of our regular entrants were not booked in yet. For this year, we’re planning things a bit differently so that folk who are not quite so internet savvy get a chance top enter and not feel left out.

“We’re really looking forward to this year’s show and have a lot planned.”
