Moray courts – Pregnant woman fled home in pyjamas after partner's abusive outburst
A pregnant woman fled her home wearing only pyjamas after her partner woke up in a bad mood and began shouting abuse.
Percival, who is currently living in Blane Place, Elgin, appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court in relation to his part in the incident.
It was stated that the distressed mum-to-be managed to phone the police who attended at the property in Dingwall during the morning of January 11 and found her outside.
Fiscal depute Victoria Silver told the court: "She was crying and saying: 'I can't do this anymore. I am pregnant' and asked the officers to get her 22-year-old boyfriend, Sebastian Percival, out of the house.
Percival admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner towards his partner.
Ms Silver said that the woman did not want a non-harassment order imposed on Percival as she wanted him to attend the birth of their child which is around two months away.
Sheriff Eilidh Macdonald acceded to her wish but ordered Percival to carry out 90 hours of unpaid work.
She added: "This is a very nasty offence involving someone you are supposed to be caring for and who is relying on you. It is time you grew up."
