AN Elgin 12-year-old took these beautiful pictures of the northern lights last night (January 13).

The pictures, taken by Ryan Williamson and sent in by mum Nikki Wilson, show the aurora borealis in full force right in the heart of Bishopmill.

Across Moray, people reported remarkably bright displays of the solar activity.
