Streets in Buckie and Cullen set to close this week due to roadworks
Two local roads are set to be closed this coming week due to roadworks.
Logie’s Lane in Buckie will be closed at the junction with Low Street from January 20-31 to allow Scottish Water to undertake excavation and sewer work. There will be no parking permitted for 100m either side of the junction.
Campbell Place in Cullen will be shut until January 22 between Reidhaven Street and Seafield Street due to streetlighting works. A diversion is in place via Campbell Place, Reidhaven Street and Seafield Street.
A number of streetlighting works are also under way in Buckie (all started January 13 for 10 working days); Scott Terrace; Hendry Terrace; St Peter’s Terrace.
Outside 10 Burnside Street, Findochty, Scottish Gas Network (SGN) continue working to fix a gas escape.
At the Rathven Road roundabout, the firm are also tackling a gas escape.
Meanwhile, work is ongoing on McLaren’s Brae to repair damage to the carriageway surface caused by torrential rain.
Openreach are working at a couple of sites in Buckie. At 64 Douglas Crescent, the company are due to start by January 20 to install fibre duct, the work likely to take up to three working days. Work to install fibre duct at 52 Raffan Road should be finished this week.
Over at 1 March Road West, Openreach began the process of putting in fibre duct on January 15. The job is scheduled to take 13 working days.
On a part of the footway at West Church Street, Buckie Scottish Hydro Electric have removed a damaged manhole cover to allow a cover board to be used to make it safe for pedestrians.
Finally, at the maltings on the A990 Portgordon to A98 road Moray Council are due to begin work by January 24 in order to excavate and install a water main. It is envisaged this will last for 11 working days.
