Buckie road closure and roadworks round-up
The diversion round McLaren’s Brae in Buckie is set to remain in force until Tuesday, August 13.
The road was closed earlier this week following the appearance of sinkholes and tears in the carriageway in the wake of a torrential downpour of rain. Repair works are estimated to run until Monday, August 12.
Drivers are advised to take the following diversion - McLaren’s Brae, East Church Street, North High Street, Low Street, Marine Place, Commercial Road and Freuchny Road.
Just up the road at East Church Street are due to begin work installing a new gas connection outside number 68a between August 13-21 for up to 10 working days.
Meanwhile, BT are set to commence work at the Steadings, Findochty at some point between August 14-22 to enable new localised ultra-fast broadband connections This activity involves excavation to install telecom. The work is estimated to last around 10 working days.
Over at Police Lane, Moray Council are due to finish work to replace street light columns by August 22. Similar work is set to start at St Peter’s Terrace over August 12-20 for 10 working days.
Finally, Scottish Water are due to finish work on Sutherland Street to repair a burst main by August 15.
