Buckie area roads set for closure over next few days





Three roads in Buckie and the surrounding are due to be closed over the course of the next few days.

February 9 will see the B9104 at the Dallachy Strike Wing Memorial at Bogmoor closed to allow a memorial service to take place. A diversion will operate following the route B9104, C16E, U8E, U10E and back to the B9104.

The U63L Auchintae Road at Arradoul, off the A98, is scheduled to close from February 3 to February 7 to allow urgent drainage works to take place. Drivers should follow the diversion U63L, A990, A98 and U63L.

Vegetation removal works will necessitate the closure of Gibbs Brae in Buckie on February 7 for three working days. A diversion will be in place from Seaview Terrace, St Helena’s Brae, Bridgend, Main Street and back to Gibbs Lane.

Moray Council aim to begin drainage investigation procedures at some point over February 3-11 outside 27 Pulteney Street, Portknockie. The work is expected to take 10 working days.

Over in neighbouring Findochty, at 16 Sterlochy Street, Scottish Gas Network (SGN) are due to have started work by February 7 for 10 working days to install a new gas connection.

Long-term work to repair carriageway damage at McLaren’s Brae, Buckie caused by torrential rain continues.

SGN are also due to to be working outside 3 Great Western Road in the town to disconnect a gas service under GSMR regulations. This is due to be completed by February 12.

Still in Buckie, Openreach are scheduled to have started work at 28 Mair Street to install ultrafast broadband by February 3 for three working days.

The firm are in Portgordon at 20 Richmond Place to install fibre ducting, the estimated starts dates being February 5-6 for three working days.
