Buckie area roadworks round-up for week ahead
A number of road restrictions are set to be in force in Buckie and the surrounding area over the next few days.
On North High Street, Buckie from the bowling green to Low Street traffic lights are due to remain in place until September 22 due to works associated with repairs to the footway and retaining wall.
Over in Fochabers, a prohibition of waiting order will be in force beginning September 23 on High Street east of the junction with East Street. On the north side this will extend for around 27m and approximately 18m on the south side
A road closure affecting the road between Kirktown and the Burn of Cullen is due to come into force at some point between September 16-24 for an estimated five working days. It is to allow Moray Council to carry out edge strengthening works.
Over the same time period, the council is due to begin carriageway surface patching works on the A98 from the Aberdeenshire boundary at Crannoch Hill to Seafield Road in Cullen.
Scottish Water are due to finish repairing a burst pipe at 14-18, The Square, Cullen by this comign Friday.
Over in Findochty, Openreach are scheduled to start work either on Monday or Tuesday for three working days at 16, The Steadings to enable new localised ultra-fast broadband connections. Openreach are due to finish similar operations over at 3 Mair Street, Buckie and 27, Richmond Place, Portgordon by Tuesday or Wednesday.
Work is ongoing at McLaren’s Brae to repair damage caused by heavy rain.
Moray Council continue to work in the Baron Place area to replace lampposts. Similar work is being undertaken at Scott Terrace and Hendry Terrace.
Slurry sealing of footways work by the local authority is set to be completed at the zebra crossing near Cluny Lane by Tuesday and near Burnside Court by Wednesday.
Finally, Scottish Water are estimating completion of work to repair a burst water pipe at Arradoul by Friday.
