ROTARY Elgin will host a Grand Bothy Concert in the new year after its "Champion of Champions" event was forced off its annual calendar this year.
As a substitute for the traditional Bothy Ballads for 2022, a concert will be held at Elgin Town Hall on February 5.
Rotary Elgin had to cancel what would have been its 39th consecutive Bothy Ballads event last year due to the pandemic.
Winners from heats held over the summer and autumn would normally take to the stage for the Champion of Champions.
But as the usual regional competitions have not taken place there are no winners to compete.
However, club members felt it was still important to celebrate the north-east's cultural heritage in some way.
Winners of the competition in recent years, such as Joe Aitken, Hector Riddell, Shona Donaldson, Geordie Murison and John Dickson, will be there along with a number of others who have graced the final.
Compere for the evening will be Gary Coull.
Much-loved north-east fiddler Paul Anderson will entertain on the night.
The usual half-time stovies will be served up, along with a dram from event sponsor The Macallan or a glass of milk.
Information about tickets and the full programme will be issued in December.
