Princess Anne will be the guest of honour on the second day of the Turriff Show on Monday, August 1.

The show is returning after a two-year break and its president says he's "absolutely thrilled" by its ongoing Royal connections.

Alan Gaul said: "It will be a great honour to welcome and accompany The Princess Royal during her visit.

"We are also excited about the prospect of welcoming exhibitors and the public back after a two-year absence.

"I’m sure businesses are equally looking forward to returning to an event which is a shop window for the very best of agriculture, food producers and country life in the north-east of Scotland."

Turriff Show, the largest two-day agricultural show in Scotland, will return at the end of July.

Princess Anne will view leading livestock entries, including cattle from the Queen’s Balmoral fold.

She will also meet members of the Turriff District Agricultural Association as well as representatives from Bridgend Aggregates, the family business who are the show's main sponsors this year.

Finally, she will present the Champion of Champions award in the Main Ring after the grand parade.

Turriff Show is expected to attract around 28,000 visitors over its two days.
