MILNE'S Primary added a royal touch to their first sports day since the Covid pandemic.

The school tied in the welcome return of their annual sports day with celebrating the Queen's platinum jubilee.

The event kicked off a week of jubilee celebrations at Milne's.

Fun and games –quite literally – was had by a total of 12 teams of mixed ages.

Ahead of them were a wide variety of games and activities.

Pupils enjoyed supporting each other, trying a range of movements and skills along with some more traditional races after a refreshment break.

A welcome addition to the event after two years of restrictions were the large number of parents and carers who came along to watch the sporting stars do their stuff in beautiful sunshine.

In what was a lovely day all round the sports day was joined by a very special visitor bearing an uncanny resemblance to the Queen.
