Friends bring festive fun aplenty to Seafield Hospital and Muirton Ward patients
Santa and his helpers had a busy run-in to Christmas, but they nevertheless had time to swing by a local hospital and say hello to the patients.
Thursday, December 19 saw the man of the season make his annual visit to Seafield Hospital and Muirton Ward in Buckie to dispense some seasonal cheer.
On hand to help out were Friends of Seafield Hospital and Community Patients joined by P5 kids from Portessie Primary accompanied by headteacher Alison Vass.
Friends chairwoman Megan Longmore said: “This year we bought the patients an M&S shortbread Christmas tree, a cosy blanket and selection boxes, which were donated by Robertson’s construction.
“The Portessie pupils sang some Christmas songs and the patients loved it.”
In addition to handing out some festive joy, the Friends have been busy on the fundraising front, too.
Ms Longmore continued: “We have fundraised via donated raffles and made £640 this Christmas.
“The staff at Seafield Hospital also fundraised £560 from selling raffles to win a hamper.
“We are in the process of buying new wardrobes for Seafield and we will continue to buy the patients toiletries for those who have no families.
In the new year we have many more upcoming spends and we thank all of the community who donate to our charity.
“We are still a small group and would welcome any new members they can contact myself via the Facebook page or 07539 966261.”
