KCR set to welcome back Scottish performer Fiona Kennedy for second summer season
A popular community radio station is set to welcome a well-known Scottish singer, actress and broadcaster to the airwaves.
Keith Community Radio (KCR) has unveiled a real treat in store for listeners with Fiona Kennedy set to return for a second season of summer programmes.
The weekly show, called Slainte Mhath! (Gaelic for Good Health!), starts at 6pm Saturday, July 5, repeated the following day at 10am and runs for nine weeks.
Fiona said:- “I had so much fun playing some of my favourite music on KCR last summer and I’m really chuffed they’ve invited me back to do another series.
“Local radio for me is something I listen to all the time and is absolutely key to the beating heart of all communities.
“I’m really looking forward to playing a wide range of tracks from many genres which I hope will have broad appeal.
“Music connects us, binds us and helps us in so many ways - whether it’s remembering where we were when an old track from childhood is played, or a tune that takes us to a ceilidh, or an upbeat track to get us bopping around the kitchen to our disco dancing days!
“There will be something for everyone and I’m also very keen to highlight many young wonderful solo singers, musicians and bands from Scotland alongside international performers.”
KCR Chairman James Wiseman said: “We’re absolutely delighted that Fiona Kennedy is taking time out of her busy schedule to make nine very special programmes for us.”
