CORONAVIRUS has now claimed six lives in Scotland following the deaths of three more patients who had tested positive.

In an update to the Scottish Parliament, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said the number of confirmed cases has risen to 266, an increase of 39 from Wednesday.

Ms Sturgeon said the government has laboratories in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee to carry out testing, and they should manage to conduct 3,000 tests a day.

People working at the NHS sharp end will be first in line for testing, the first minister said.
