AN Aberdeen events venue has scored its second national award success in as many weeks.

It's another taste of that winning feeling for the team at P&J Live.
It's another taste of that winning feeling for the team at P&J Live.

The P&J Live has been named Best Conference Venue (401-1100 Theatre Style) at the Conference and Events Awards 2022, coming out top against other shortlisted entrants Etele Plaza, Hilton London Bankside, London Hilton Park Lane, The Belfry Hotel & Resort, The Mermaid London, Whittlebury Hall & Spa, and Wyboston Lakes Resort.

The Conference & Events Awards, produced by Global Conference Network Events and hosted by comedian Tom Allen, took place on Friday, July 1, at Old Billingsgate, London. The awards are held to recognise the achievements within the conference, exhibition, consumer and corporate event, agency, venue and associationed sectors.

This award was presented just one week after P&J Live was named Venue of the Year at the AEO Excellence Awards.

Nick Waight, Managing Director at P&J Live, said: “We are delighted to have collected this award, recognising the outstanding conference facilities and dedicated team we have in Aberdeen. Having picked up two awards in just seven days is absolutely outstanding.

“We have worked really hard since re-opening to attract new and returning business to the venue, but with determination and an eagerness to collaborate to put Aberdeen on the map, our strategy is proving a great success.

"The venue offers a ‘one-stop shop’ solution, housing an in-house team of experts that includes AV and IT, exhibition services, catering and marketing services all under one roof. This enables the venue to offer a unique and flexible service to organisers without them having to contract a multitude of external third parties. Inclusive packages are offered to encompass each of these service areas, no matter which size of conference space is hired.

“But of course, we couldn’t do any of it without our fantastic team and the support of our operating company, ASM Global – it’s great to have this recognition.”

The venue had to prove its credentials within an entry submitted to a large panel of judges, which examined the venue’s team-centric, seamless approach to service delivery, its sustainability efforts, ability to attract and retain clients and post-covid innovation and marketing strategies.

The judging panel commented: “This was an impressive and passionate entry, showcasing a very flexible and diverse range of spaces within the venue including accommodation, with a good focus on the customer experience.”
