POLICE are investigating after a garden shed was deliberately set on fire in Burghead during the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The blaze completely destroyed the outbuilding at 36 Keith Road, as well as causing substantial damage to a nearby oil tank.

A spokesman for Grampian Police said the wilful fireraising took place at about 4.30am.

The force appealed for witnesses for what was described as a "very usual crime" for the area.
