Children in Need sees Eve create shortbread Pudsey Bears

An 11-year-old baker has made a lot of folk very happy indeed with these delicious Pudsey Bear shortbread biscuits and cupcakes.

Eve Cromack, who’s a pupil at Seafield Primary, put her skills to good use to raise more than £440 for the annual Children in Need appeal.

With a little help from her mum, Rach, the youngster held a bake sale along with a raffle at her home in the Bishopmill area of Elgin.

Rach said: “Eve wanted to raise money and thought that selling cakes would be a great way to do it. I’ve worked for a couple of organisations which have had funding from Children in Need, so we’ve always taken an interest and watched it on TV.

“Eve is a very caring girl. I think last year was the first time it became clear to her there are children who aren’t as fortunate as herself.

“So she decided she wanted to do something in time for Christmas for youngsters who are ill or looking after family members.

“She’s a very good little baker.”

More than 100 cupcakes and 70 shortbread biscuits sold out within a matter of hours.

Rach, who’s an occupational therapist, said: “I took some into work with me and people were asking which shop I’d got them from because they wanted to buy some for Christmas.

“Her baking has received some very good reviews.”
