NHS Grampian hospitals have ‘significant amount’ of people with flu and flu-like symptoms
A “significant” amount of flu is circulating around hospitals in the north-east of Scotland.
That’s according to NHS Grampian, who sent out a warning on Christmas Day morning reminding people not to visit if they are unwell.
“We know how important it is to connect with family and friends, especially at this time of year,” a spokesperson for the health board said.
“However, we are seeing a significant amount of 'flu and other respiratory illnesses right now.
“If you are unwell - with respiratory symptoms or vomiting/diarrhoea - you must not visit friends or relatives in hospitals, or care homes.
“Stay at home until you are recovered and stop the spread.”
The health board also warned that Aberdeen Royal Infirmary’s emergency department was “extremely busy” with flu and flu-like illnesses on Christmas Eve.
