Small rise in Buckie Harbour fish landings

THERE was a slight rise in the number of boxes of fish landed at Buckie Harbour last week.

In all, some 344 boxes were brought ashore as opposed to 300 the week previously.

A sharp rise in the quantity of bags of clams landed was recorded. With no bags taken ashore the week before, last week saw 269 landed.

The vessels bringing their catches to the quayside were: Our May; Endeavour; Brantia; Skua; Emerald Dawn; Star of Annan; Flourish; Pegasus; Lily Oak VI; Boy Sam; Deeside.

A single cargo vessel, the MV Anita (Dutch), called at Buckie Harbour last week and imported approximately 1949 tonnes of malt from Antwerp on July 29.
