Highlands and Moray Met Office snow warning extended





The north has been warned to expect another day of wintry conditions, as a weather warning has been extended.

A Met Office weather warning covering the Highlands, Moray and the north east was due to end at Noon today.

However, an update at 9.14am has seen this extended for another 24 hours.

The warning states that the affected area will see “further rain, sleet and snow showers leading to some travel disruption”.

Areas above 200 metres could see another 10cm of snow.

Snow showers will be widespread “for the rest of Tuesday”, the update added, before becoming confined to the north and north east on Wednesday.

The news comes ahead of a further predicted drop in temperatures at the end of the week, which could see further warnings issued.
