Performing to a professional standard, they play the best of Motown and Stax, with tunes from the likes of Sam & Dave, Edwin Starr, James Brown and Marvin Gaye.

Colin Henderson, who’s been with the band right from the start, said: “If you like dancing and having a good time, then that’s what we’re about.”

After initially coming together in 1992 to perform a one-off gig for UNICEF, the band managed to raise nearly £250,000 for the charity.

This year’s proceeds will go towards the town hall.

Sold on Soul are: Finlay Grant (drums); Mark Aldridge (bass); Roger Niven (guitar); Adrian Beckwith (keyboard); Glen Munro and George Brown (trumpet); Craig and Colin Henderson (saxophone); Colin Black (percussion); Kenny McDonald, Sarah-Jane Scott and Nikki Henderson (vocals).

Tickets are available online from the venue’s website.

Doors open at 7.30pm and a licensed bar will be available.
