Police carry out checks on speeding motorists in Drummuir

OFFICERS from Keith Community Policing Team have carried out checks on motorists in Drummuir after local reports of frequent speeding in the village.

The police carried out the checks on the morning of Monday, January 24, and stopped several drivers – who were given advice regarding driving at speed.

There has been concern from local residents about the speed at which motorists travel through the village, especially near to Botriphnie Primary School.

Sergeant Crawford Reay said: “Road safety remains a priority for Police Scotland, particularly around schools where young children may not have an awareness of the speed of moving vehicles.

"I encourage drivers to drive appropriately and safely at all times."
