MEMBERS of the recently formed YES Speyside Glenlivet group were out in force on Saturday morning, distributing 1,000 copies of the National.

The group took to the streets of Aberlour, Archiestown, Craigellachie, Dufftown and Rothes to deliver the pro-independence newspaper to households.

The organiser, Hamish McBain, said: "With Brexit nearly upon us, it is imperative that the 24% majority in favour of Remain is emphasised.

"We are being forced out of the EU against our will. Scotland has been ignored and disrespected by the UK Government. They discourteously failed to acknowledge various offers of help from the Scottish Government.”

Another member of the delivery team, Sandra Ross from Rothes, said: "Without the truth how are people supposed to make an informed decision?"

Alfie McGarthland from Dufftown said: "Too often members of the public are bombarded with incorrect, inaccurate and biased information. This was an opportunity to help clear up the confusion and give people the means to make a good choice."

Graham Jefferson from Rothes made reference to the many 'toots' of support from passing motorists, while Fraser Morrison from Craigellachie mentioned the good reception from the public.

Thanks were expressed to YES Moray for the use of their gazebo which was strategically positioned in the Seafield Square, Rothes.
