THE Stars for Thought Tree, outside Keith North Church, is celebrating its 10th year.

For many years the Sunshine Developmental Playgroup was the charity and last year Keith Cancer Link benefited.

The Beeches at Keith Primary is this year’s charity.

Labels priced £1 are on sale until Christmas Eve at The Deli Shop, Shears Hair and Beauty Retreat and the Kirk Shop, all in Mid street, and Clark’s the chemist in Fife Keith.

Messages of any description can be written, using a special pen held by the shops.

This began as messages for relations who had died but it has grown into people writing messages for loved ones, pets both alive/dead. The labels are attached to red stars on the tree.

Drummuir Estate has supplied the tree for 10 years.

Organiser Jane Sharp said: “We would not be able to achieve so much if it were not for the volunteers. This year we started off with a whole new team as far as erecting/removing the tree is concerned.”

She thanked all those who have stepped down from the committee, many of them involved for the last nine years.
