POLICE investigating the sudden passing of a 27-year-old woman in Forres have said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

Officers were called to a house off the town's Market Street at around 4.20am on Saturday, July 18, after the sudden death.

The address at Logie Terrace was cordoned off and police stood on guard outside while the scene was being examined.

Police initially treated the death as "unexplained" while completing their enquiries.

However, on Sunday afternoon a Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We can now confirm the death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal."
