Superfast broadband connections are being built as part of the Scottish Governments's R100 broadband improvement scheme. The engineering schedule detailing when upgrades are due to take place is now available online.

Some one-off vouchers have also been made available by the government for those without a superfast connection to install commercial broadband in the interim.

Chair of Moray Council's Economic Growth, Housing and Environmental Sustainability Committee, Cllr Graham Leadbitter, said: "The R100 programme of investment in superfast broadband will bring high-speed internet access to the vast majority of people.

"An acceleration in homeworking, brought on overnight by the pandemic and still largely in place as many continue to work from home, has made the need for this access to superfast broadband all the more pressing.

"The council is working in collaboration with OpenReach and other local telecommunications providers to ensure improved access is available to as many commercial and residential properties in Moray as possible, and to give individuals and businesses the access to superfast broadband they are anxious to have."

OpenReach announced its plans to deliver superfast broadband to more areas across Scotland earlier this year. That included Hopeman, Fochabers, Keith, Dufftown, Rothes and Cullen which were all earmarked for upgrades over the next five years.

The postcode checker will continuously be updated with all the latest superfast broadband developments.
