1. Moray trio arrested over attempted murder in Rothes

Three people from Moray have been arrested and have appeared in court after an attempted murder in Rothes on Friday night.

Rachel Baillie (28) and Debbie Baillie (20), from Aberlour, appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court on Monday alongside Callum Brown (25), who was listed as living in Elgin.

A planning application has been lodged to knock down a burned-out house in Lossiemouth and replace it with a brand new home.

Braelossie has been an eyesore on Prospect Terrace for many years, despite commanding one of the best views in Moray.

3. Moray planes scrambled on Monday Morning

Live-armed Typhoons were scrambled from RAF Lossiemouth in Scotland this morning to intercept two Russian Tu-142 Bear-F aircraft.

The Russian maritime reconnaissance aircraft were initially monitored and intercepted by Norwegian Quick Reaction Alert (QRA).

A former Moray publican couple are marking 60 lively and successful years together this weekend.

Ken and Lorna Robertson, both aged 80, of Lossiemouth's Schoolbrae, are celebrating their diamond wedding anniversary.

5. Elgin Academy teacher Ian Davidson retires after 43 years with school

After a teaching career devoted almost exclusively to one school, Ian Davidson left the classroom for the final time today.

It is fair to describe Ian as a stalwart of Elgin Academy, having taught there for 43 years.
