JUDGES on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ were left chorusing yeeha after a country dance act won their praise and the audience’s loud applause.
Amid the CountryVive line dancing troop were Buckie’s Emmy-Jo Munro (15) and Jodi Riddoch (16), who are hard at work in rehearsals for their next appearance on the ITV national talent hunt, to be aired this weekend.
The team is made up of line dance judges, instructors and competitors from across the UK, who gathered ahead of their first audition to rehearse a routine to ‘Backwards’ by Rascal Flatts, a country music band from the USA.
Emmy-Jo is the youngest member of the troop, having started line dancing when she was just 3. Both she and Jodi attend Buckie High School and are fitting rehearsals around studying for their upcoming exams.
Their performance aired on the first show of the 2014 season, shown on Saturday, April 12, after which judge David Walliams said: “You are the answer to our prayers. A brilliant dance group with a difference.”
Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden agreed, with both hailing the energy of the performance.
Even Simon Cowell was tapping along to the beat, and stated: “You’ve taken it to a whole new level. This is great. One of the best things we’ve seen today.”
Now, the troop is hoping to make it to the live finals, and all will be revealed this Sunday, May 25, when the judges narrow down their selections from the audition stages.
