Officers were told of a reported housebreaking in Ernest Hamilton Court at around 2.10am.

However at around 2.50am, after just 40 minutes, police attended after receiving a “report of a car being broken into” on Mitchell Crescent.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland confirmed both the 18-year-old and 17-year-old were arrested and charged connection with the housebreaking incident.

Officers also said the same 18-year-old male was arrested and charged in connection with the car break-in on Mitchell Crescent.

Inquiries are ongoing into the incidents, the spokesperson added, but the teens are due to appear in court at a later date.
