Moray police investigating Buckie defibrillator theft
An police officer has branded the theft of a defibrillator from outside a butchers shop as an “abhorrent crime”.
The lifesaving item was taken overnight from outside Anderson’s Butchers, on West Church Street in Buckie, between Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12.
Police Scotland confirmed that an investigation is ongoing into the theft of the medical device - donated to the town by Kieran’s Legacy.
The Moray-based charity has donated countless defibrillators to communities over a near-decade, in honour of 16-year-old Keiran McKandie who passed away from a heart attack in 2016 after being hit by a car.
Sergeant Graeme Allan said: “This is an abhorrent crime of an item that could possibly be used to save a person’s life."
