"Please keep up to date with weather and road conditions if out travelling today," a spokesperson said.

The heavy rain is causing disruption on the travel to work this morning.

Drains are struggling to cope with the incessant downpour and many roads already resemble rivers.

Added the police spokesperson: "If travelling, plan ahead and be prepared for your journey to potentially take more time than expected. Drive safely and according to road and traffic conditions."

Flash flooding is expected across Moray, wth heavy rainfall predicted throughout the day and an amber weather warning is in place.
