Dufftown Co-op hit by late-night break-in
Enquiries are ongoing after a Co-op store in Moray was broken into in the middle of the night.
Police received reports of a break-in at the shop on Dufftown’s Fife Street at around 1.10am today (Friday, July 4).
This followed a similar incident that took place in Kingussie at 11.30pm on Thursday, July 3, in which three men in balaclavas and dark clothing were spotted on the town’s high street after a break-in at a retail premises.
Kingussie and Dufftown are 53 miles apart, roughly an hour’s drive.
Speaking about the incident in Kingussie, detective inspector Andy Bilton said police “are keeping an open mind regarding any links to similar break-ins reported in recent days”.
Detective inspector Gavin Fleming said that enquiries into the incident in Dufftown “are at an early stage”.
