Banff Christmas Cracker to bring plenty of festive cheer
A Christmas extravaganza will officially kick-off a town’s festive celebrations.
The Banff Christmas Cracker is set to bring plenty of cheer when it is held later this month.
The event at Low Street and the Plainstones will see a special visit from Santa and the tree lights will be switched on.
It will also feature a number of community groups and stalls when it is held on Sunday, November 24 from 1pm-5pm.
The event is organised by Kenny Grant from the Broken Fiddle cafe.
He said: “One of the main highlights will be a visit from Santa who children can visit throughout the afternoon in his grotto.
“Performing this year will be Portsoy Pipe Band, Banff Academy Choir and there will be music from Starlite Disco to keep everyone entertained.
“There will be various craft stalls along with the emergency services who will have their life-saving equipment on display.
“A fun fair with bouncy castle and a range of activities will also feature.
“People will be able to enjoy food and drinks from a number of vendors.
“The event will conclude with the switching on of the Christmas tree lights, which are new this year.
“We are proud to say that Garret Home Furnishings and carpet specialists from Macduff have kindly sponsored our Christmas tree.
“John Stewart Quality Butcher in Banff will be supplying the very tasty burgers for the event.
“We are grateful to all the local businesses that have donated raffle prizes.
“We are looking forward to welcoming everyone to the event and spreading Christmas cheer.”
