Travel in Moray: Train services suspended between Keith and Inverurie

Train services between Aberdeen and Inverness have been suspended between Keith and Inverurie due to sub-zero temperatures and snowy conditions.

Because of the severe weather disruption is expected until the end of the day.

All stations between Keith and Inverurie cannot be served by train.

A rail spokesman said: "We continue to experience significant challenges across our rail network because of sub-zero temperatures and snowy conditions.

"We are working hard to resolve these problems but disruption on some routes will continue until faults are fixed and the weather improves.

"Were sorry for the inconvenience this has caused and are committed to restoring services as quickly as we can for our passenger and freight customers."

If people are making an essential journey, they should check the app or website to make sure their train is running before they leave the house.

They can use the National Rail enquiries real-time journey planner to check if a journey by rail is currently possible.

If they have had to drive to another station their ticket will be valid to collect their car on their return journey. They can speak to a member of staff to validate their ticket.

It has been arranged for rail tickets to be accepted on local bus routes. Insch is not covered by local bus agreements.

Currently, there is no rail replacement transport because of the current weather conditions.

Travellers may wish to consider postponing their journey until the services return to normal.
