Forres Town Hall to host comedian Craig Campbell’s national tour
A TV comic is set to bring his national stand-up tour to the town hall.
Breakneck Comedy productions is bringing Craig Campbell’s ‘Raging Gracelessly’ tour to Forres next month on Saturday, December 7 as part of a 10-gig tour of the country.
The Canadian-born comedian, who now lives in Devon, has a number of television credits to his name, both in the UK (Michael McIntyre’s ‘Comedy Roadshow’, Russel Howard’s ‘Good News’, Alan Davies’ ‘As Yet Untitled’) and Canada.
He also hosted ‘From Wimps to Warriors’ but is probably best known as the comedian who made an expectant mother laugh so hard that her waters broke on Dave’s ‘One Night Stand’.
He has supported Frankie Boyle, toured Kazakhstan, performed in Russia and has also appeared at the ‘Just For Laughs’ festival.
Campbell has also performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe as part of comedy trio The Dinks (with Tony Law and Dan Antopolski) and solo, with several sold-out Fringe runs to his name.
Time Out magazine described him as “a fantastic yarn weaver, with charming tales of his travels and hugely funny observations”.
Campbell’s Scottish tour dates are being organised by Aberdeen-based promoters, Breakneck Comedy, who brought Karen Dunbar to the town hall in April.
The company’s founder, Naz Hussain, confirmed they have worked with Campbell on previous Scottish tours.
He said: “It’s always exciting to see what he’s going to do next. Audiences can expect a fantastic evening of comedy from one of Canada’s finest comedians.”
Breakneck Comedy brings top comedians and performers to venues that might not be on the usual tour schedule.
Mr Hussain said: “We make it easier for people to be able to enjoy a great night of comedy and entertainment without them having to worry about catching a train home from the city!”
