Two deaths as more than 500 coronavirus cases confirmed in Moray for second straight week

TWO coronavirus-related deaths have been confirmed in Moray in the last week, while the area recorded more than 500 new cases of the virus for the second successive week.
The people who died tested positive for Covid-19 before their death. Their deaths take Moray's toll since the outbreak began to 56.
Of those 56, 44 tested positive for Covid-19 and passed away within 28 days, while 12 had the virus mentioned on their death certificate.
Meanwhile, 533 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Moray within the last week, taking the area's total since the outbreak began to 6773.
This is a slight reduction on the 545 cases confirmed in last week's update. That is despite an increase in negative tests in the area – from 948 to 1046.
NHS Grampian – which includes Moray, Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen City – has now confirmed 55,109 cases of coronavirus since the outbreak began.
Moray neighbourhood update
All of Moray's 24 'neighbourhood areas' confirmed at least three cases of coronavirus between November 11 and November 17.
Elgin was again the worst-hit town in Moray, with a total of 120 cases - slightly down on the 126 recorded last week.
A total of 53 cases were confirmed in Forres, with 41 in Lossiemouth and 39 in Keith and Fife Keith.
In Buckie, 18 cases were confirmed.

- Cullen, Portknockie, Findochty, Drybridge and Berryhillock: 15
- North Speyside: 12
- Mosstodloch, Portgordon and seaward: 12
- South Speyside and the Cabrach: Seven

Moray vaccination update
The number of people aged 12 plus in Moray to have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine is 69,945. This accounts for 83.2 per cent of the eligible population.
The number to have received one dose is 76,968 – or 91.5 per cent of those eligible.
In total, 26,781 people aged 12 plus have received a booster/third jab. That's 31.8 per cent of the eligible population.
