Elgin town centre traffic lights flattened after collision involving van





A van has flattened a set of traffic lights on a busy section of the A96.

The incident took place earlier today on the main A96 eastbound route through Elgin near the town’s Tesco.

The crumpled remains of the traffic lights can just be glimpsed under the front of the van.

Police were called and the eastbound lane was closed for a while, with traffic directed to use a section of the westbound carriageway until the road was cleared.

Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
