The Moray West Community Safety Report lists a large number of crimes committed locally in June
THERE were 12 reports of vandalism in-and-around Forres last month.
The Moray West Community Safety report for Forres Community Council confirms the police have charged someone for one of the incidents but are still investigating the other 11 via CCTV footage and house-to-house enquiries.
Forres inspector Neil Morrison listed a number of crimes in the area during June, including violence, theft and traffic offences.
He said: “Contact myself or the Forres and Speyside Community Policing Team via ForresCPT@scotland.pnn.police.uk if there are any issues you wish to discuss.”
One person was charged and issued with a fixed penalty notice for a breach of the peace and consuming alcohol in a public place.
There were six reports of assault. Four people were arrested and charged.
Inspn Morrison added: “Positive lines of enquiry are ongoing for the remaining two incidents.”
There were three breach of bails reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
Five reports were also received of threatening and abusive behaviour. Two people were arrested and released to appear in court. One was issued with a recorded police warning and enquiries remain ongoing for the others.
One person was charged and issued with a recorded police warning for wasting police time.
And another was charged when they were found in possession of a controlled drug.
Eight reports of theft were made in the area last month. One person was charged and reported. A youth was charged and reported to the Scottish Children’s Reporter. Positive lines of enquiry are ongoing into the remaining incidents.
There were two reports of shoplifting from local businesses. Enquiries remain ongoing.
Finally, a driver was arrested for theft of a vehicle, driving unsupervised with a provisional license, and driving without insurance.
Two motorists were arrested and charged with Drink Driving Section 5 RTA 1988.
One person was reported to the Procurator Fiscal for driving whilst unfit.
Positive lines of enquiry are ongoing regarding a report of dangerous driving.
And four reports were made of drivers failing to stop after an accident. Enquiries resulted in two being charged. Enquiries are ongoing into the remaining incidents.
