It will be the second consecutive year Nairn has hosted the North of Scotland Cup final as it was also the venue where Brora Rangers ran riot in a 6-1 demolition of Clachnacuddin almost 12 months ago.

Clachnacuddin reached the North of Scotland Cup final after a superb 2-1 win over Ross County in the semi final at Merkinch earlier this month.

Forres Mechanics reached the final after a shock 2-1 win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle at Mosset Park also earlier in September.

It has been 13 years since Forres Mechanics last won the North of Scotland Cup when they defeated Wick Academy 3-2 at Dudgeon Park in Brora on September 11, 2012.

It has been 24 years since Clachnacuddin won the North of Scotland Cup, beating Inverness Caledonian Thistle 2-0 in the final in September 2001.

Station Park has become no stranger to hosting major cup finals in recent years. Last weekend, it hosted the Highlands and Islands League Cup final where Shetland defeated Sutherland 7-0.

Nairn County themselves won the North of Scotland Cup in 2023 when they defeated Ross County 5-4 in one of the most dramatic finals in the history of the competition.

Last year’s winners Brora Rangers won the competition on their way to a historic treble, also winning the Highland League Cup and Highland League in the same season.

Meanwhile today, both clubs are on Highland League duty as Clachnacuddin host Rothes and Forres Mechanics travel to Brechin City.
