A Walkers spokesperson said: "We can confirm that a member of staff who works at our Aberlour site has tested positive for Covid-19. The individual concerned is isolating and we wish them a full and speedy recovery.

"We have notified the NHS Grampian Health Protection team and our Local Authority Environmental Health department and are following their advice and guidelines.

"As some may know, we closed our production sites for over three weeks in April, which allowed us to further enhance our hygiene controls and to adopt socially-distanced working practices.

"Our Food Defence Team meets weekly to monitor any changes in official advice and regularly updates all employees on requisite changes to protocol and procedures. We also continue to engage on a daily basis with our staff in an effort to continuously improve our workplace environment.

"We will continue to support our employees throughout this period and ask that any employee who has concerns of any kind related to this matter contact us directly to discuss further."
