Wasteful to Tasteful is launched today by Elgin Busness Improvement District (BID), in assocation with The Northern Scot and St Giles Centre.

The aim is to make art and culture accessible to all, as well as being a great way to engage with artists and the public to brighten up spaces in the centre of Elgin.

Gemma Cruickshank, Elgin BID manager, said: "We are looking to hold an exhibition with the shortlisted submissions in the St Giles Shopping Centre to encourage footfall into the city centre once Elgin fully re-opens and the stay at home message is lifted.

"We are sure this will create a sense of pride for people with their artwork being showcased within Elgin and with the possibility of it being voted to be on one of the bins for years to come.

"We can’t wait to see what type of designs artists come up with for showcasing Elgin and look forward to seeing it become a reality."

Elgin BID is responsible for 10 bins.

The deadline for entries is April 9 and designs should be emailed to tina.mainland@elginbid.co.uk
