THE community council in Lossiemouth has urged dog owners not to leave dog poo bags lying around near the beach.

The bin at the west beach was overflowing and people have just been leaving bags on the ground beside it.

In a post on their Facebook page, the community council said: "Someone will have to pick up all these dog poo bags.

"We know this bin has been an issue off and on for years now but throwing the bags on the ground does not solve the problem.

"Please carry your dog poo bag another 400 yards to the nearest big bin."

Taking your dog to the beach is great fun and there is nothing better than seeing your four-legged friend enjoying themselves in the sand and the sea.

However, the message to all dog owners is be responsible, bag the poo and dispose of it responsibly.
