ELGIN'S Laichmoray Hotel has opened its doors to people who continue to be affected by Storm Corrie.
As of this morning, 46 homes in Moray remain without power.
A total of 30 of these are in the Dufftown area, with SSEN aiming to reconnect them by 4pm when a high voltage fault is fixed.
The remaining 16 homes are in outlying areas. As other local high and low voltage faults are fixed they should regain power, but there is no timescale.
Those affected can head through to the Laichmoray Hotel in Elgin for food, to charge electrical devices and more.
Customers unable to access welfare facilities, who remain off supply, may claim back the cost of meals up to £15 per person. Customers are being asked to keep copies of receipts for any claims.
For those who are unable to make alternative arrangements to stay with family or friends, SSEN will reimburse reasonable costs for accommodation.
Richard Gough, director of distribution system operations at SSEN, said: “Our teams have continued to make strong progress restoring power to customers impacted by Storms Malik and Corrie.
“Although the cumulative impact of the storms has compounded the challenge, we have started our final push and aim to restore power to the vast majority of customers today.
"For the pockets of customers that will remain without supply into Wednesday, we are prioritising welfare and support, working closely with local resilience partners.
“We would like to apologise to all customers affected and would like to encourage any customer concerned to give our dedicated teams a call on 105, where we can provide additional support and guidance.”
