A poem penned by Angela Oatridge who lives in Burghead.

.

When our World shut down:

The china, so treasured, is now covered in dust.

The pictures so precious, just hang as they must,

But the love and the care, that used to be here,

Because of the situation is no longer near.

.

The gardens, so admired, were always covered in flowers,

Are now very overgrown, to restore them will take hours.

But somehow we know that, in the years yet to come,

Will return to a place of beauty, relaxation and fun.

.

This year in mid-March, was it so long ago?

With Spring in the air and on Easter's threshold,

The world just shut down, it was quite a shock,

You had to stay put whether you liked it or not.

.

A killer is near; we all have that fear

This virus so dangerous, is very positive and right here,

Most workers are now redundant, and the economy we’re told,

Is heading for bankruptcy as in days of old.

.

No place can escape it, no country or town,

The whole world is finding their lifestyle is breaking down,

You cannot avoid it, but we are all working in a way,

For the restoration of safety, and a better life one day.
