Elgin town centre toilets - Comfort scheme offers free use of facilities after St Giles Centre closure

The St Giles Centre’s closure will mean that its toilet facilities will no longer be accessible.

The toilets within the centre are the only public toilets in the town centre - with the nearest block in Elgin’s Cooper Park.

However, a handful of town centre businesses are signed up for an Elgin BID scheme, launched several years ago, that sees them offer use of their facilities for free.

The ‘comfort scheme’ allows visitors to use facilities without purchasing an item from the shop.

Moray Council’s annexe on the high street offers use of its toilets - as does the library in Cooper Park.

There are four central businesses offering use of their facilities. These are: The Drouthy Cobbler, Toscanas, The Muckle Cross (Wetherspoons) and Parenthood Pathways (above Oasis Dental Care on South Street).
