RAF Lossiemouth to host Wildcat helicopters with evening flights over Moray expected





Wildcat helicopters will be conducting routine training flights from RAF Lossiemouth next week.

The helicopters, usually based at Royal Naval Air Station Yeovilton, will arrive on October 13 and will remain on site until November 7.

The multi-role aircraft form part of the Commando Helicopter Force with the scheduled training flights taking place under Exercise Emerald Spear.

Its many roles include small-team troop movement, Close Air Support, surface and airborne escort as well as Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities.

The helicopters may be seen operating at various altitudes in different areas around the Moray Firth during the exercise including during the evenings.
