Moray police seek suspect after woman assaulted on Elgin footpath





A woman required hospital treatment after a man assaulted her on a quiet footpath.

Police officers asked the public for any information about the attack in Elgin yesterday.

The 46-year-old victim was taken to hospital after the incident on a footpath near Cathedral Court at around 5.40pm.

Officers described the suspect as wearing “dark clothing” and said the man cycled away from the attack towards North College Street.

Constable Kyle Cowie asked anybody with information to contact the police, also encouraged anybody with dashcam footage of the area to come forward.

“Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything to contact us,” he said.

“We also ask anyone driving in the area at the time with dashcam footage to come forward.”
