MORAY Camera Club will stage an exhibition of work in Elgin Library's Gallery later this month.

This year marks the 75th anniversary of Moray Camera Club, which was initially named the Moray Photographic Society.

Due to the uncertainties of the pandemic a celebratory exhibition has been delayed until next year.

However, club members have put together an exciting autumn show, in which award-winning photographer and life member Phil Galloway will display a selection of pictures from his travels in India.

Phil Galloway's winning photograph, "Lady of the Desert", will be on display at Moray Camera Club's Elgin Library exhibition.

Visitors will be able to see Phil’s photograph, "Lady of the Desert", which won the Best Portrait Image in this year’s Grampian Eye photographic competition.

Also on display will be Kate Friday’s image, "Carrying the Clavie", which won Best Image in the same contest.

Grampian Eye takes place every year with between 12 to 14 north-east clubs taking part.

This year's competition was held via Zoom in April and hosted by the Moray club. Experienced photographer Rod Wheelans judged the competition, awarding the top spot to Moray Camera Club.

Donside Camera Club, based in Alford, will host the 2022 Grampian Eye.

The exhibition at Elgin Library will run from Saturday, August 28 until Saturday, September 18.

Meanwhile, the club is seeking photographs taken around the time of its foundation in 1946 in the Elgin area for its 75th year celebration. Anyone who can help source images is asked to email moraycameraclub5@btinternet.com.
